Anna Cannavo
Growing up in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Anna Cannavo quickly learned about the professional dance world and had the opportunity to perform as a Munchkin at age 8 in the National Tour of the Wizard of Oz for a handful of shows. Furthering her training, Anna apprenticed in Mariposa, a pre-professional company under Monarch Dance Company that specialized in Afro-modern dance. Throughout high school, Anna competed all throughout the tri-state area, winning scholarships to summer intensives, national events, and universities. While studying at Point Park University, Anna performed in several pieces by the conservatory’s renowned faculty and guest choreographers. She had the pleasure of being in a tap piece by Maud Arnold, which furthered her love for tap and tap performance. A recent Point Park University graduate, Anna is an enthusiastic artist, learner, and educator. Holding a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Elementary Education, Anna is a proven hard worker and dedicated leader in all she undertakes. She recently began choreographing through the Choreography Collective, under Kiesha Lalama and Jason McDole, as well as for studios around Pennsylvania who are competing currently in various styles. Anna currently holds certifications as an ACE Group Fitness Instructor and in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Even while working in the Mount Lebanon School District and teaching dance weekly, Anna finds time to continue her training in the studio as well as auditioning for future performance opportunities.Â
