Jamie Salas

Jamie's dance journey began in San Antonio, TX, where she immersed herself in competition and performance across multiple disciplines. Her dedication to the art led her to earn a BFA in Dance with a concentration in performance and choreography from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Post-graduation, Jamie apprenticed with Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater (now Contemporary West Dance Theatre) and showcased her talents in their premiere company show. She continued her training on scholarship at Giordano Dance School in Evanston, IL, after relocating to Chicago.

Throughout her professional career, Jamie has danced with esteemed companies such as Inaside Chicago Dance, Esoteric Dance Project, bnw:dance, Chicago Tap Theatre, and Dance in the Parks, where she also served as a rehearsal director. Her repertoire includes performances in works by notable choreographers like Harrison McEldowney, Autumn Eckman, Jon Lehrer, Eddy Ocampo, Elijah Gibson, and Brenda Bufalino, among others.

In addition to her accomplishments as a performer, Jamie has showcased her choreographic prowess with works for Inaside Chicago Dance, Framework Dance Company, Dance Chance: Redux, Chicago Freelance Dance, and Dance Chicago. She holds a Progressing Ballet Technique certification and imparts her knowledge as a teacher and choreographer at two local studios in the Chicagoland area.
