Nicholas “Nik” McNees

Nicholas “Nik” McNees is a dance educator, choreographer, and emerging leader in the competitive dance community. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Western Michigan University, where he distinguished himself as a founding member of The WM Elite Dance Team and became the first male performer on the university’s Dance Team.

Nik’s training and professional development have included mentorship from a wide range of respected industry professionals, contributing to his versatility across contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and commercial dance styles. His experience in both performance and competitive dance environments has shaped a strong understanding of technique, artistry, and team dynamics.

Currently, Nik works extensively in dance education and leadership as an instructor, coach, and co-owner/founder of an all-star dance program. Through these roles, he is committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and motivating spaces where dancers are encouraged to grow both technically and artistically.

As an adjudicator, Nik brings an energetic and insightful perspective, valuing performance quality, technical execution, versatility, and authenticity. He is passionate about providing constructive feedback that inspires dancers to build confidence and continue developing their craft.
