Shelby Weis

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Shelby began her dance training with Ballet Omaha and the Omaha Theatre Company under the direction of Robin Welch. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance Performance from The University of the Arts. Shelby has performed with professional companies including Brian Sanders’ J.U.N.K., Omaha Modern Dance Collective, and Behold Modern Dance Collective. As an educator, Shelby has taught dancers of all ages and across a wide range of styles. Her teaching experience spans studios in Nebraska, California, Washington, and Wisconsin. She currently serves as the Director of the Ballet and Modern Conservatory Program at Bloom Dance Studio in Omaha, where she focuses on developing strong technical foundations and artistic growth. In addition to teaching, Shelby is the Artistic Director of Ballet Company of East County’s annual production of The Nutcracker. Her additional directing credits include Alice in Wonderland and the original ballet Storytelling. Shelby was also nominated for a Shelly Award for her choreography of Crazy for You with Brentwood Theatre Company.
