Sydney Fugett
Sydney began their dance training in the Chicagoland area, focusing on pre-professional work in the competition and convention circuits. They continued their education at Point Park University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance under the direction of Garfield Lemonius and Dr. Colleen Hooper. During their studies, Sydney worked with notable choreographers such as Kiesha Lalama, Jason McDole, Martha Nichols, Christopher Huggins, Rocker Verastique, Jess Hendricks, and others. They also contributed to several student choreography projects and created their first full-length piece.
Graduating summa cum laude in 2022, Sydney returned to Chicago to begin their professional career. Now working as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and judge, Sydney has performed in full-length productions, commercials, state fairs, short films, and live theater improv groups. They have trained at esteemed institutions including Visceral Dance Center, the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, and Second City Theater, in addition to participating in multiple dance intensives and festivals throughout the Midwest.
